Raciones Pre-Mix Feed Compnay

On Monday, we visited with Raciones Argentinas. They are a pre-mix minerals company that was established only in 2002 in the general manager´s house. They provide minerals and vitamin supplements to both beef and dairy cattle with the mission of providing high quality products and a high value of service to set them apart from other companies in the area. Because the United States is more developed than Argentina is, they continualy strive to be like us with updated technology.

The company produces three different products: Raciones Mix, which is a standard product, Raciones Pro, which is a customized product based on the producer´s location, water, etc., and Immun, which is their dairy product. Raciones has both a commercial and technical area that they keep completely separated by having technical consultants independent from the company.

Raciones has three types of customers: feed companies, beef producers, and dairy producers. They are more connected with beef but continualy strive to get to know the dairy producers better. The split out is 60% beef customers, 30% dairy, and only 10% feed companies. The company has done well since they were able to build their own facility in 2004 and now employ twenty people. The employees are split between five different areas: foreign trade, commercial, technical, production, and financial.

After giving the group a presentation about the company, they took us on a tour to see the storage facility, mixing and packing areas, and the offices. They then invited us to the home of the general manager, Graciela (Grace) Fazzio.  She and foreign trade director. Veronica, hosted us for lunch in Grace´s backyard. She lives in a gated community and her house was very nice with a pool and a nice place to relax. Not only was the food, including the Dulce de Leche dessert wonderful but our hosts were very nice and made us feel extremely welcome.

We hope everyone is enjoying catching up with our activities on the trip and hope to keep you more updated as our hotel in Uruguay has wifi. Adios!
